If you want to read an excellent book that describes the experience of the night bombing raids over Germany, I recommend "Bomber" by Len Deighton. He describes what happened on both sides, German and British, in unsparing detail. The book gets a bit gory but it ends with a colossal bombing raid that is very powerfully depicted. Regarding this Lancaster project, nobody does this kind of production better than Tom. I am always amazed by his detail and cinematography.

I love your videos, Tom. I've watched this one several times and the thing that strikes me is the incredible impression of weight and solidity of the engine. Something about that particular shade of grey blue, and the glossy finish. It screams of heavy engineering.

This just might be the best single video on how to build a wooden ship model...just fantastic. I disagree with some commenters...I liked the music...but the real magic is the combination of solid construction techniques, captioned "tips" about drying times etc., and the stop/action filming...just brilliant. Well done, Sir, well done indeed.

This is so cool! I've been watching these videos and checking out the models online with my hands basically itching to buy a kit like this, I just have very minimal experience and don't think I will be able to pull it off :) Will probably purchase one at the end... Btw, this particular kit does not have a preassembled propeller, is this correct? I see that you even had to glue the planks together and give them a proper shape. Did you use any specific tools or tricks to make it easier?

Also, does it include parts to make the F6F-3E, the F6F-3N, and/or the F6F-5N? Additionally, does the kit include an aviator figure suitable for sitting in the seat? Would you know of any aftermarket details sets, accessories addressing this kit, etc.? Would you know of any other 1:25th/1:24th-scale aircraft kits?

Fantastic! I really hope to see a decent F4F-3 in 1/72 scale released in the next few years. I wonder if the more recent Airfix F4F-4 could be modified to portray a true F4F-3?

Great looking plane. Getting the model fighter pilot to hop in for the test flight, is a good precaution. Easy on the linsead oil though.
